Via ferrata

High King – 2,941m

You don’t have to introduce it to climbers. The Königsjodler is known far beyond our borders and should not be missing in any tour book, as it is considered one of the longest via ferrata in the Eastern Alps. Provided that climbing skills and fitness are appropriate, the king yodel can be enjoyed either on one or completely relaxed on two days

Program – that’s what awaits you:

  • Day 1: Meeting point by appointment at the Dientnersattel near the parking lot of the Erichhütte. Access to the via ferrata Königsjodler (approx. 2 hours) and ascent of the via ferrata, depending on the skill and condition between 5 and 8 hours. Afterwards, they climbed to the Hochkönig main summit (approx. 1 hr) and overnight in the Matrashaus directly at the summit.
  • Day 2: Depending on the physical condition and conditions, we either choose the steep descent over the Birgkar (3-4 hours) or descend via the Hochkönig Normalweg to the Arthurhaus (approx. 4 hours). For conditionally strong, the ascent and descent is also possible in one day

Services – that’s what you get:

2 days guided tour by a state-certified mountain guide, the necessary equipment, climbing helmet, via ferrata set, hip belt and gloves are available free of charge.

  • Condition for approx. 400 hm per hour in the ascent
